2011/2012 Germantown Red Devils 16U Coaches

Coach - Jack Kinney

  • Coach Jack will begin his 18th year as a coach in the Germantown Red Devils’ Softball organization. Over the years, he has had the privilege of taking six different teams to the ASA Nationals and has won ten ASA Metro Championships. Coach Jack also took the first Tennessee team to the prestigious Independence Day Tournament In Boulder, Colorado in 2001, where his team finished in 7th place. His team continues to be invited to some of the best tournaments in the country.
    Coach Jack has been married to his wife Dotty for 28 years and they have three children. Michelle and Bradlee played in the Red Devils Organization and son
    Jack was an assistant coach.

    Coach Jack is a long time member of the National Fast pitch Coaches Association. Over the years, he has established relationships with many college coaches. Having had a daughter play softball for an SEC school, he has also come to know these coaches well. In all, 36 former players have moved on to play college softball with 19 going to D1 schools.

    In addition to travel ball, Coach Jack was an assistant coach at St. Benedict High School in Cordova, Tennessee for ten years. During his years coaching at St. Benedict, the team won nine Regional Championships. The team also went to nine State Championship Tournaments, finishing second three times.

    Asst. - Shannon "Shug" Henson

  • Coach Shug is entering his third year as a coach in the Germantown Red Devils’ Organization. Shug a Jonesboro, AR. native has competed in baseball and softball at various levels his entire life. Coach Shug is married (Trish) and they have two girls, Hannah and Haven. Nine years ago, Shug was introduced to girls fast pitch softball and immediately knew he had fallen in love with something.

    In addition to travel ball, Coach Shug teaches hitting and fielding and coaches the 8u Fat City Angels.

    Coach Shug believes there is a reason athletes are called student-athletes. Student always comes first. Education, character, work ethic and integrity are a few words that Shug expects from his athletes.

    Shug strongly believes, the win or loss of every game, (including the game of life), is determined by your effort and not a reflection of a scoreboard. Now, let’s play some ball.

    Asst. - Keanah "KoKo" Prestridge

  • Coach Keanah (Koko) is entering her second year as a coach in the Germantown Red Devils’ Organization. Keanah a Moore, OK. native lettered two season as a catcher on the Memphis Tigers softball program where she was second in all-time career caught stealing and has the school’s third highest career fielding percentage. Keanah also had a standout junior college career at Seminole State College where she was a Third Team All American.

    Coach Keanah is currently in her first season as a student assistant coach on the University of Memphis softball team. Keanah grew up playing competitive softball, developing her passion for the game playing summer ball for the Oklahoma Babes Organization. Keanah understands the importance of competing at the highest level, and how it teaches girls valuable life lessons in team work, character building, discipline and a drive to succeed.
